Gavin John is an acoustic driven singer songwriter full of melodies inspired by both the coming and leaving of love. Throw on your dancing shoes because Gavin John’s music will surely make you want to groove. By keeping his melodies simple and his arrangements complex, he has managed to capture the ears and hearts of both the younger and mature audiences.
Gavin grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and began writing songs at the age of ten. His father had an old acoustic guitar. This old guitar with missing strings would become Gavin's first instrument into the world of music. He recalls coming home from grade school and running straight to his room to make melodies and chords on his father's guitar. Soon there after he picked up every instrument he could get his hands on and by the age of thirteen he was fluent in not only guitar but trumpet, drums, bass and piano as well. He began playing in several touring rock bands and also a jazz band. Gavin has written hundreds of songs but not until recently has he begun recording for his first album.

		The Beatles have always been his number one musical influence growing up. He played his parents vinyl records and studied the melodies and sounds. He programmed and wired himself as a songwriter at a very early age. Gavin John says everything that he hears is a melody, a sound, or a potential lyric for a song. In high school, Gavin had some local success in a band that frequently played all over Cleveland and even toured in England and Slovakia. After graduating high school and leaving Cleveland for Boston, Gavin began his education at Berklee College of Music, where he would meet all of his future co-writers. Gavin has found his home in Boston and occasionally he makes references to the town he loves in his songs. After graduating Gavin began working with Living Sound Entertainment and writing songs with Jaw Maran (LSE's Founder) for his upcoming album "Out the Window", which is scheduled to debut sometime in 2008 under j’ mar records. Gavin is pleased to be writing for his album and has already teamed up with Jaw to write string arrangements and lyrics for his tunes. Jaw has played an important roll in the shaping and writing of Gavin's new material which has been Gavin's proudest work to this day. Stay tuned for Gavin John’s debut release!
